Wildlife Biologist Scott Shalaway is putting together a trip for adventurous birders.

The 11-day, 10-night trip will be Sept. 4 - 14, and will accommodate eight to 12 participants.

Under the care of an Ecuadorian guide, they will visit areas from the western slopes of the Andes to the Amazon basin.

They will look for exotic birds such as the gray-breasted mountain toucan and the velvet purple coronet.

Shalaway, who lives in Cameron, hosts a radio talk show and authors a newspaper column, "The Wild Side," encouraging people to become tuned in to nature all around them.
