The United States Postal Service announced that their consolidation studies are complete after five months.
The USPS announced it is part of a larger, comprehensive plan which will reduce operating costs by $20 billion by 2015.
Processing operations will be moved from Steubenville to Pittsburgh as a part of the process.
The Postal Service is in a financial crisis due to the recession in the economy and the increased use of electronic communications.
First-Class mail volume has rapidly declined since 2006, leaving much less revenue when it comes to sustaining operations at the facilities nationwide.
Operations in Clarksburg will also be moved to the Pittsburgh-area.
