Two members of the Wheeling Jesuit women's basketball team were recognized among the West Virginia IntercollegiateAthletic Conference's top players as Cassy Sanderson and Emily Robinson earnedAll-WVIAC selections, which was announced by the league's office.
Sanderson, a senior from Elizabeth, Pa.,was selected to the All-WVIAC honorable mention team for 2012. She started all26 games to date and averaged 15 points per game, scoring 389 points during regular season play. She shot 43.5 percent from the field, which included a35.7 percent showing from beyond the arc. Sanderson also crashed the boards,pulling down 3.9 rebounds per game while adding 27 assists and 25 steals to her season totals.
Robinson, a freshman Circleville, Ohio, earned a place on the WVIAC'sAll-Freshman team. The rookie point guard guided the offense in all 26 contests,averaging 12.8 points and four assists per game. Robinson poured in 333 points in her collegiate debut season, while collecting 19 steals and three rebounds per game.
