Weir High's Matt Cessna opened the season with a bang with a three-run home run and a grand slam for seven RBI , he also singled.

The Red Riders won 15-2 over Oak Glen in each team's season opener.

In High School Softball, Cameron defeated Bishop Donahue 5-3.
