A Wheeling man could be facing domestic battery and assault charges after an incident on Monday afternoon at Riverview towers in Wheeling.
According to Interim Police Chief Mike VanKirk, officers were called to the scene after the girlfriend of Sylvester Walker, 19, of Wheeling, claimed she was assaulted by him.
VanKirk said Walker allegedly attacked the victim by throwing her to the ground and then stole her cell phone. Walker ran before officers arrived on scene.
Interim Police Chief VanKirk said this is an ongoing domestic issue and that Walker should be considered dangerous.
He also added warrants are pending.
