
West Liberty University held the groundbreaking for their new Health Sciences building Monday morning.
The new building, Campbell Hall, will house Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Speech Pathology and Audiology, Chemistry and newly added program, Physician Assistant Studies
Campbell Hall is named after '53 graduate Dr. Clyde Campbell.
Dr. Campbell is a scientist and teacher and served for 11 years as president of then West Liberty State College.
Today also marked the first day of classes for the Physician Assistant program as well.
University President Robin C. Capehart said today that they are very excited. That this has been part of a journey that they have been taking to move from a good college to a great university.
Dr. Campbell said he is humbled by the experience Monday and that West Liberty has always been a part of him and now he can always be a part of West Liberty.
Campbell Hall will be located on Faculty Drive directly below Shaw Hall.
They will be constructing the new building to look like the long standing buildings on campus, Main Hall, Shotwell Hall and Shaw Hall.
