It's no wonder why Wheeling Central's Colleen McCormick has been so successful in her basketball career.
She works on her game year round, and that includes practicing outdoors at Garden Park in Warwood, where she lives just a block away.
McCormick works for the Wheeling Recreation Department as the playground instructor, which means she can get in as much practice as she wants with neighborhood kids. She's grown up playing on the court, now she's helping the new breed of basketball junkies to sharpen their game.
McCormick said, "I just help them, we shoot all the time. We just play games like two ball and everything, so it's a lot of fun."
McCormick averaged a double-double last season and was named second-team all-state captain, helping her Lady Maroon Knights to the Class A state finals.
