Just as AEP was getting many Ohio Valley households' power restored, Wednesday night's storm set back the process, by plunging many more customers into darkness.
It was a case of taking one step forward then two steps back.
Now the latest prediction for full restoration is Sunday.
Carmen Prati-Miller of AEP says people are actually approaching their power line workers out on the job, and saying, "Do my house next!"
"You know, people are getting a little edgy now," says Prati-Miller. "It's been several days since the power went out and people are anxious to have their power restored. Our crews are out working in all sorts of locations, obviously, and we need to make sure that customers realize that they have to respect the work zone where our guys are working. It's a dangerous situation and they should not be bothering the work crews."
And Prati-Miller urges people not to assume that AEP knows about their outage.
She says they need to report it, and if several days go by and they are still without power, to report it again.
