Terry Littleton told WTRF.com, "all you can do is just try to do your best to stay cool, the best you know how. I mean, when you've coped without air conditioning for long, you know, you don't think about it. Now, my mother lost her air conditioning this year. Her coils went bad, so she's having trouble coping with it."
County emergency management agencies remind people to check on their elderly and infirm neighbors without air conditioning during periods of high heat.
