Man Behinds Bars After Domestic Dispute

A local man is behind bars after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife early Sunday morning.

Robert Cox, 55, has been arrested and transported to the Northern Regional Jail.

At about 3 a.m. Wheeling Police responded to 313 Eagle Court after receiving a phone call from Cox's ex-girlfriend.

According to police Cox allegedly grabbed a knife and proceeded to bang on the door, attempting to enter the woman's bedroom. Upon arrival, police placed Cox under arrest.

Cox was arraigned by Judge Joe Roxby and has been charged with domestic battery, his third offense.

A criminal background check found Cox has two prior arrests in regards to domestic violence, the first from the Wheeling Police Department and the second out of Belmont County, Ohio.
