Changes to be Made for Democratic Ohio County Commission Election

Changes are set to be made for Democratic Ohio County Commissioner.

David Simms moving from the commissioner seat to being a circuit court judge left an open spot for the Democratic Ohio County Commissioner.

West Virginia State Senator Orphy Klempa has announced that he has offered his name to the Ohio County Democratic Executive Committee for consideration to be placed on the ballot as the Democratic Candidate for Ohio County Commissioner.

This is not a decision that came lightly for Senator Klempa. But something he feels would be the right move at this time in his life.

Sen. Klempa said he knew his career in Charleston wasn't going to be for much longer and he looked at the position and though it would still be a way to help and be close to his family. He said he has some great ideas for the county.

Sen. Klempa said his hope is to better serve Ohio County and his family by returning home.

Monday at 6:30 PM a meeting will be held with the Ohio County Democratic Executive Committee for consideration of anyone that filed to be on the ticket to take Simms' place.
