Former Assistant Prosecutor Makes Initial Appearance in Court - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

The former assistant prosecutor in Hancock County charged in connection with a fatal heroin overdose of a man last year made his initial appearance in court Tuesday morning.

Don Humberson has been charged with battery and possession of a controlled substance after Scott Roach fatally overdosed when he purchased 10 bags of heroin for himself and two other men.

Tuesday, he entered pleas of not guilty, according to Ohio County Prosecutor Scott Smith.

The case had been turned over to Smith, to avoid conflict.

Smith expects Humberson to be back in court in three or four weeks.
