A man doing some early morning fishing from a spillway, where excess water flows out of a lake, was trapped between 10-feet of water and a 20-foot drop onto pavement.
Wtrf.com arrived shortly after the man was rescued by volunteer firefighters. While he was fishing here on the spillway at Jefferson Lake State Park, he became trapped and used his cellphone to call for help.
"When we arrived, the gentleman was stuck on the spillway," said one of the rescue workers. "We put a ladder down and rescued him."
The man who had to be rescued didn't want to be identified. He called the whole thing embarrassing especially since he had been fishing from the spot for years.
Rescue workers said this isn't the first time they've rescued someone from the spot.
