
A Wheeling man is behind bars Wednesday after an early morning break-in on Clay Avenue in Elm Grove.
According to Wheeling police they responded to a previous burglary on Clay Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The original burglary had actually happened at approximately 5 a.m. but the victim alerted police that the suspect had actually returned to the area.
While police were on scene they found that another burglary had occurred on the same street.
Lieutenant Braden with Wheeling Police said while they were on scene a person came up and said their neighbor was robbed also.
Detectives investigated and processed and arrested Murphy for both burglaries.
Lieutenant Braden also said there have several complaints at neighborhood watch meetings of reported break-ins in that area.
He said police are not sure if Murphy is involved but will be investigating.
