The Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department is warning people to avoid contact with Raccoons.
This comes after a wild raccoon tested positive for rabies.
The raccoon was found in the Oakmont area in Wheeling. This is the first laboratory confirmed animal rabies case in Ohio County.
The Health Department is reminding Ohio County residents to be wary of animals behaving strangely or aggressively.
The health department also added a reminder to keep your pet's vaccinations up to date
