Jordan Hall has been named one of the 52 student-athletes on the 2012 Doak Walker Award watch list by the SMU Athletic Forum. Hall is a senior from Jeannette, Pa., and is majoring in family resource management.
A three-year letterman, Hall has 817 career rushing yards with five touchdowns and has also caught 21 passes out of the backfield for 202 yards and four more touchdowns. He has also been the key return man for the Buckeyes the last three years, a big reason why he ranks 26th all-time at Ohio State with 2,513 all-purpose yards.
Hall is expected to be a significant beneficiary of the new spread offense that Coach Urban Meyer has installed at Ohio State. He'll will be sidelined until sometime in September because of an accidental foot injury that required him to have surgery June 29.
Semifinalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 9 and finalists will be revealed Nov. 19. The recipient of the 2012 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 6, on ESPN.
