Case Dismissed Against Hopedale VFD and Chief - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

All charges against the Hopedale Volunteer Fire Department and Chief Michael Moore have been dropped.

According to Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Hervey, charges were dropped after additional evidence made it difficult to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Moore and the department were indicted in February on three counts of insurance fraud, telecommunications fraud and theft by deception after they were accused of filing a claim saying equipment was damaged when it really was not.
