One local college is being named one of the most affordable colleges in the nation.

West Virginia Northern Community College has been included in the top 10% of the College Affordability and Transparency List.

The list is released by the U.S. Department of Education.

The average net price of attending Northern for one year is a $3,094, compared to the national average net price of $6,485.

According to a press release, the list is released to help students make informed decisions about their choice for higher education.
