Belmont County Commissioner Matt D. Coffland, and his son, Matt B. Coffland, are facing criminal charges stemming from alleged behavior during an investigation of their business.
The charges were brought about after Liquor Control agents visited the Cofflands' business, The Tiger Pub, in Shadyside, Ohio.
Authorities confirm both men are being charged with one count of knowingly hindering or obstructing a liquor control agent, a charge Coffland Senior strongly denies.
According to authorities Coffland was arrested Friday while at Jamboree In The Hills. It has not been confirmed whether this arrest is in relation to the charges the Cofflands already face or a new incident.
Because the elder Coffland is a county commissioner, the case is being prosecuted by Special Prosecutor Tom Hampton, and a Monroe County Judge will preside over it in Belmont County.
