A short film titled "Legacy of Honor" is being filmed in the Ohio Valley and held an open casting call Sunday at the Ohio Valley mall.
The film is being produced in conjunction with the City of Moundsville's veterans memorial event in August.
The event will be in celebration of all those who have served in the Armed Forces.
Nick Battistone is the writer, director, and executive producer of "Legacy of Honor." He says the film will portray an American family who has a long military history, and will involve people from all over the country.
"Its so hard to find the right way to say thank you to those who have served and put themselves in harms way for us, and fought to protect our freedom," he says. "This is a great way to give back and say thank you for all they have done for us. It's people like them that allow us to have the freedom to make movies and follow our dreams, and do everything that we like to do. So this is such a great project for us all to be involved because it's a very nice way for us to say thank you for all that they've done."
Nick says the response in the Ohio Valley has been overwhelmingly supportive of veterans.
Production begins on Monday and will last for the next eight or nine days. The film will premiere at the Strand Theater in Moundsville and play every hour on the half hour during the Memorial Event.
