Crude Oil Prices Force Ohio Gas Prices Up

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -

Drivers in the Buckeye State will likely pay more for gas this week.

In a survey Monday from auto club AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was
$3.45. That's up 9 cents from a week ago.

Last year, the average was $3.70.

Nationally, the average price for regular gas is about $3.47, about 7 cents higher than last week.
Analysts say the higher prices are mostly due to rising crude oil prices, spurred upward by better-than-expected global economic concerns and simmering tensions in the Middle East.

U.S. oil supplies swelled in June to 22-year highs but have declined since then.
