On Saturday WTRF.com told you how one St. Clairsville woman claimed she was sexually assaulted after being abducted near the Highlands in Ohio County.
The woman, who was hospitalized, told authorities she was assaulted by several men while they drove around the Ohio Valley.
After a careful and extensive investigation by the West Virginia State Police, officers determined the woman's story never happened.
Officers say certain aspects of the complainants' statement were not credible.
They also conducted interviews and interrogations and determined the victim's story had been fabricated.
The investigation has been officially closed.
