Smoking and other tobacco use will be prohibited on West Liberty University's campus next year.
Dr. William Mercer with the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department says the ban will include electronic cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products. It will go into effect in January 2013.
The Associated Press says Mercer informed the Wheeling-Ohio County Board of Health about the pending ban on Tuesday.
A similar ban at West Virginia Northern Community College will go into effect Nov. 15. West Virginia University's main campus in Morgantown will go tobacco-free on July 1, 2013.
