Wheeling and Moundsville will meet Saturday for the area one legion baseball championship. The good news for both teams they will each advance to the state tournament next week.
Wheeling is the host team so they qualify automatically , meaning Moundsville will also advance win or lose Saturday.
Wheeling defeated Moundsville 14-7, Friday afternoon. Matt Carnahan had a two run home run for Post One in the victory.
Post 3 held off Post 10 in the second game of the day to advance. With the tying run at the plate in the top of the ninth, Moundsville pitcher Hunter Kaschke got Chris Perna to ground into a 6-3 double play to end the game.
Moundsville and Wheeling will play at 1 p.m. at I-470.
