Wristbands Curb Underage Drinking at Italian Heritage Festival

Posted: Updated:

In order to purchase alcohol at the Italian Heritage Festival this year, customers were required to wear a wristband.

This was in an attempt to curb underage drinking at the festival.

According to Wheeling Police, the wristbands did their job, no underage drinking citations were issued and there weren't any reported DUIs over the festival weekend.

Due to the success of the wristbands, Wheeling Police and festival organizers plan to use them in Italian Festivals in years to come.
