Students in Cameron are heading back to school Wednesday morning.
Cameron Schools were the first in the Ohio Valley to switch to what officials call a modified school year. That means students go to class throughout the year, but still get six weeks off in the summer.
The goal of a modified school year is to help students retain knowledge they may lose over the long summer break.
Teachers in Cameron say they are already seeing an improvement.
