
Industry sources have confirmed for WTRF.com that many of RG Steel's Wheeling assets were sold at auction Tuesday.
Sources said steel officials are being tight-lipped about what happened but here is the latest news developing.
Sources confirm Mingo Junction was sold to Frontier for $20 million.
The Yorkville Plant and fifty percent of Ohio Coatings were sold for $4.7 million to Esmark.
Esmark bought all of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel plants in 2007.
The Martins Ferry plant was purchased by Quay Mull.
Nucor Steel bought the equipment only at Wheeling Corrugating.
WTRF.com has learned that no one bid on the Wheeling headquarters and fifty percent of the Follansbee Coke Plant.
The USW declined to comment Wednesday because of confidentiality agreements.
The official results of the auction are not expected to be formally announced until a hearing either Aug. 6 or 8 before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey.
