It's been a busy summer in Wheeling, but now after festivals, football, and much more, baseball is taking center stage again.
For the first time since 1988, the West Virginia American Legion State Tournament is being held in the Friendly City.
Six teams including players, coaches, and fans from across the state are in town to play in this annual tournament.
Tournament co-director Don Tennant says great to have the business with the baseball.
Tennant told WTRF.com, "it's really great for Wheeling to have this tournament again. We've had a great response from all the parents that made the trip up here. We have a lot to be proud of and it's nice to show it off."
Work on this tournament began in the spring.
Morgantown will be the host city next year.
