It was a rare opportunity for scholarship donors to actually meet the students who will benefit from there generosity.
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley held there annual Scholarship Luncheon at Wilson Lodge at Oglebay, Monday afternoon. The Community Foundation administers over 50 scholarship funds for a variety of opportunities.
This year over $150,000 scholarships were awarded to well over 100 students throughout the Upper Ohio Valley.
Some scholarships are awarded for specific areas of study, such as engineering or business, others are specific to the high school from which the student graduates or to the college they plan to attend. Scholarships amounts range from $200 all the way up to $10,000.
