According to a Bellaire Police report, 22-year-old Ashley Nicole Grandstaff of Jacquette Street claimed that she was abducted from the Bellaire Kroger and held captive.

Police noted that Grandstaff's story changed multiple times, and that she fled from police when they first arrived to investigate the case.
