Coal is being taken from a memorial that was put into place to honor 29 miners killed in an explosion at Upper Big Branch in Whitesville...

That's according to a posting on the memorial's Facebook page..

Employees at the memorial are saying coal is disappearing from the monument's base..

Organizers are asking visitors to not take the coal -- to preserve the site for future generations..

The memorial was Just dedicated two weeks ago..
