
Surveys are planned across West Virginia over the next few weeks to determine the densities of deer populations.
The Division of Natural Resources said Monday that wildlife staff will use spotlights to sight deer in fields and woods along randomly selected roads. The spotlight surveys will be conducted in 41 counties.
Game management supervisor Gary Foster says monitoring deer population levels is an important component of the state's deer operational plan.
