Applications are now being accepted for the 6th Citizen Police Academy Class.
The Neighborhood Assistant Volunteers are uniformed individuals who serve at a non-law enforcement capacity.
It goes well beyond wearing a badge, according to Lieutenant Phil Redford.
"Its a great way for people to get a behind the scenes look at what we really do, besides on television. We have several guest speakers lined up and even trips to the shooting range and the prison," added Redford.
