If you drive down National Road on any given evening, you're bound to catch the aroma of food cooking with the many restaurants that line the well traveled road.
But you may be surprised just who has been serving up grilled food once a week for the past few months.
The Hampton Inn on National Road has been hosting a complimentary manager's reception every Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 for their guests.
Owner and operator of the hotel, Bob Hitchman, says people love it.
Hitchman feels there is no better way to extend a warm welcome than through food and beverage and a few minutes with people.
The menu includes typical "cook-out" style food from grilled wings to grilled portobello mushrooms.
There is no charge for the guests to attend the dinner.
Hitchman also said this is not a normal Hampton Inn thing to do but the way they do it here in Wheeling as a way to thank the guests for their patronage.
They are going to try to do the weekly cook-out year round and will possibly have to add on to the grill area for when the weather changes.
