Ground is Broken For A New Press Box at Magnolia's Alumni Field - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

Ground was broken Tuesday for a new press box at Alumni Field in New Martinsville.

On June 29 when a massive storm blew threw the Ohio Valley, it knocked the press box into pieces.

Since that time, the Wetzel County Board of Education, Superintendent Diane Watt and Magnolia Principal Cathy Schmalz have been working to get another press box built .

They hope by August 24 the new one will be standing just in time for River High School's first game at Alumni field.

Schmalz said the new press box will have the same accommodations as the old one including room for video crews.
