
The St. Clairsville Kennel club dog show is being held Saturday and Sunday at the James E. Carnes Center.
This year owners and handlers will compete for a championship title.
Almost 500 dogs have been entered and 100 breeds will be represented.
Dogs are judged by breed, then by class and then move on to compete for the best in show title. Judges look for structure, movement and temperament in prize winning dogs.
Organizer Donna Simpson said that judges came from all over the country to participate in the dog show.
The show is an American Kennel Club sanctioned confirmation show.
Simpson said it takes a lot of time and it's a group effort and they are appreciate of everyone who had come out to see the dogs.
A "Meet the Breed" section of the show will be set up on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The public is welcomed to attend to watch and learn about the different breeds of dogs.
