Pennsylvania Plane Crash Lands Pilot In The Hospital - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

A plane crash in Washington County, PA left the pilot hospitalized Sunday, however he is expected to survive.

The crash happened Saturday evening at the Bandel Airport in North Bethlehem Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the pilot, 79 year old Keith Ackman was attempting to take off from the airport when his ultra-lite aircraft clipped the trees and crashed to the ground.

Ackman was conscious at the scene of the crash and was trapped in the plane until responding crews removed him.

The accident is still under investigation.
