West Liberty, Wheeling Jesuit Joining Mountain East Conference - WTRF 7 News Sports Weather - Wheeling Steubenville

West Liberty University and Wheeling Jesuit University are among the 12 members of the newly-formed Mountain East Conference.

Nine of the members schools are from the West Virginia Conference, including Charleston, Concord, Fairmont State, Glenville State, Shepherd, WV State, and WV Wesleyan, along with Wheeling Jesuit and West Liberty.

The new members include Virginia-Wise, Urbana, and Notre Dame College.

The league will begin play in the 2013-2014 season, and consist of 11 football-playing schools, and 12 basketball.

Wheeling Jesuit is the only non-football playing school.
