An advisory for residents of eastern counties in Ohio. Starting this Friday, the Ohio Department of Health and Natural Resources as well as Wildlife services will be beginning their fall oral rabies vaccinations.
Over the next month the vaccines will be distributed over 4,000 square miles by air and by vehicle. The departments warn residents that are in an area being baited to be aware of low flying aircraft dropping the vaccinations.
They also warn to keep children and pets away from the baits. They say once your area is baited to keep dogs and cats inside or on a leash for up to five days.
