Monday night an informal open meeting was hosted by the West Virginia and Ohio Departments of Transportation for residents in Brilliant.
The open meeting was held to give residents a look a proposed plans for building a bridge that would span the Ohio River from Brilliant, OH to Wellsburg, WV.
The meeting didn't include a specific presentation but was more of an open forum so residents could voice concerns or questions regarding the building of the bridge.
While 7 News was at this meeting all of the residents we spoke with seemed to support the building of the bridge.
Wells Township Trustee Larry Owens said overall he thinks it's good they are building the bridge and that he doesn't think it would hurt anything.
Brilliant resident Margaret Nickoson said there are stores and restaurants in Wellsburg she likes to go to and having a bridge would make it easier.
She also added that in the future if she had grandchildren that went to school at West Liberty University it would be easier to get there as well.
Now through September 28th is the time for residents to voice concerns or questions.
You can do that either through their website, www.transportation.wv.gov or by sending a letter to this address:
