As of the latest forecast, Isaac is finally showing signs of weakening. This still puts Isaac at a category 1 hurricane, so Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama still have a long way to go.
Isaac dropped from 80 mph sustained winds to 75 mph sustained winds on Wednesday morning. Numerous tornado warnings were issued for south Mississippi as well.
As of mid-Wednesday, over 7-inches of rain had fallen in parts of Mississippi and Louisiana and street flooding was being observed.
According to forecasts, Isaac will continue to be a dangerous problem for a couple of more days for Louisiana and Mississippi before the storm moves into Arkansas likely causing power outages and downed trees.
The Ohio Valley is not expected to get any major wind or direct hits from this storm, however, forecasts are becoming more complacent upon rain with occasional heavy rain late weekend and early next week.
