The West Virginia Filmmakers Festival is seeking submissions
from filmmakers around the country.
Filmmakers can submit feature films, documentaries, shorts,
animations or experimental works that have a West Virginia connection, is about
the state is set in West Virginia or has an interest to the state's residents.
The films will be screened at the 13th Annual
West Virginia Film Festival Oct. 5-7 at the Elk Theatre and Landmark Studio for
the Arts in Sutton.
Festival organizers are also accepting nominations for the West
Virginia Filmmaker of the Year Award. This award is given to the filmmakers
whose most recent work or lifetime work has had the greatest impact on the West
Virginia film industry. The WVFF board of directors oversees the nomination of
the filmmaker of the year. The selection committee includes previous award
winners, the WVFF boar and industry professionals from across the state.
Nominations of 200 words or fewer are accepted via email
until Sept. 15. Nominations can be sent to
wvfilmmakeroftheyear@wvfilmmakersfestival.org.
