
Authorities have confirmed a second rape has been reported in Steubenville.
Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla says a mother and her 14-year-old daughter reported the rape Monday, but the crime allegedly happened in April.
The girl's mother told authorities she had just found out about the rape on Sunday, five months after it happened because her daughter was afraid to tell anyone. Abdalla says it was reported the girl was allegedly raped by three people.
The case is now in the hands of the Steubenville Police Department.
The first alleged rape recently reported out of Jefferson County was filed Aug. 14. Two 16 -year-old students from Steubenville Big Red were officially charged with the alleged rape 10 days later. To read more on the first recent rape case out of Jefferson County, click here.
