St. Clairsville receiver and Boston College recruit, Dan Monteroso has been selected as this week's Robinson Auto Group Athlete of the Week.
The senior had the best game of his heralded career, catching six passes for 180 yards and scoring four touchdowns in a 42-14 rout of Brooke.
Monteroso and senior quarterback Matt Kinnick, connected on two long scoring passes on the Red Devils' first two plays from scrimmage-- 40 and 60 yard completions--on the same route. In fact, Kinnick also set a career high with six TD tosses.
"We work on that route all the time," said Monteroso. "The defender was tight on me, and I just juked him inside and took it outside, and Matt (Kinninck) put it right there."
The four touchdowns and 180 yards are both career high for Monteroso, who is also a standout basketball star. The 6-foot, 3-inch guard set a new school points record late last season on the Red Devils' magical run to the Final Four in Columbus.
