They call themselves VOAD, Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters.
WTRF.com spoke to two region emergency managers meeting in Ohio County, about setting up Regional Long Term Recovery Groups.
It means groups of people ready to activate at a moment's notice, to help emergency managers in times of disaster, to rebuild communities.
"And what our purpose is, is to get this set in place so that we don't always have to come back and create a new long term recovery group any time there is a disaster," said Jenny Gannaway, state chair for the West Virginia VOAD. "It's going to be something that's going to be in place."
