First responders remembered at blue mass

WHEELING -

A blue mass was held Saturday night at St. Alphonsus Church in Wheeling.

The blue mass or "first responders mass" began at 5:30 p.m. The service was held to honor local first responders in the wake of the deadly shooting just a few weeks ago where two officers lost their lives while on duty.

The mass also commemorated those who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks. The 11th anniversary is coming up this week.
