Thousands Pack WesBanco Arena for Elton John Concert

Tuesday night was a busy one for the "Friendly City" as thousands poured into Wheeling's downtown WesBanco Arena to see Elton John perform.

Fans started lining up early as doors didn't open until 6:45 PM.

Fans of all ages dressed in Elton gear made their way through the doors and to their seats to hear the Rocket Man himself take the stage.

Elton John opened the concert by singing a crowd favorite "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", and the hits continued after that.

For some people at the concert it was their first time seeing Elton John but for others they were veterans.

"I would say this would be close to 15 for me and I've seen him at Ceaser's Palace in Las Vegas and I have his autograph, just seeing him and listening to him, the lyrics and the

music just blows me away , I love it," said Karen Ratka of St. Clairsville.

For everyone who had seen Elton perform before they knew what to expect.

"He puts on the most awesome show ever, he's just really fantastic," said McKayla Obright of Benwood.

Tickets were sold quickly as even more were even made available last minute due to a set change.

Donna Lynch from New Martinsville received her floor tickets as a gift.

Elton's next concert is in Peterborough, ON, Canada.
