Pill Trafficking Drug Bust in Marshall County

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. -

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has arrested a woman allegedly involved in trafficking pills in multiple states.

Authorities had been investigating this case for months now. Their hard work is paying off. They seized evidence of a pill ring when they arrested Dana Deem last week.

Marshall County Chief Deputy Kevin Cecil says Deem had allegedly been trafficking pills all the way from the east and west coasts. She also made trips down to Florida, bringing narcotics back to Marshall County.

Officers found about $4,000 cash they believe to be drug money. Chief Cecil says the hundreds of narcotic pills they collected as evidence were on Deem's person and in her hotel room.

"She is from this area, but was traveling by rental vehicle all around the country," he says.

Deem is lodged in the Northern Regional Jail after being arraigned in Marshall County. Chief Cecil says his officers are discussing Deem's transfer to a federal jurisdiction since her pill trafficking ring covered so many states.
