Names Released: 24 arraigned as result of massive drug crackdown in Wetzel County

WTRF has obtained the names of all 24 people arraigned Tuesday in a Wetzel County court as part of a massive drug sweep.

Wetzel County Prosecutor Tim Haught said a six month investigation resulted in 29 indictments and 25 people arrested. He said two of those individuals are being held on other charges in Georgia.  Police are still looking for a suspect nicknamed "D-Wall."

Below is a list of the 24 suspects that were arraigned Tuesday in a Wetzel County court:

Joshua E. Burch - One count of conspiracy.

David Shawn Christen - one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Jason Scott Dalrymple - One count of conspiracy

Christopher Justin Drane, AKA "Drano" - One count of attempted first degree robbery

Ronald L. Dunham, AKA "Buck" - Four counts of Conspiracy, three counts of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Paul James Ellenwood, AKA "PJ" - One count of conspiracy, one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Athony Gibbons, AKA "Twan" - One count of attempted first degree robbery.

Roger Lee Headley - one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Edward K. Hornbeck - Three counts of conspiracy, three counts of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Virginia M. Hornbeck - Three counts of conspiracy, three counts of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Ray Jones, AKA "Little D" - One count of conspiracy, one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Darla A. Loy - one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Willard Loy - One count of conspiracy, one count of attempted delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Gary Mallendick - one count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

Leanne Mallendick - One count of delivery of a controlled narcotic substance (oxycodone)

A massive drug arraignment  took place Tuesday  in Wetzel County.

Authorities said 24  people were arraigned on various prescription drug charges including delivery or conspiracy to deliver oxycodone,a few were charged with selling heroin and others were charged with selling Subutex which is a pain medication.

Authorities said  a six month investigation focused on a public housing development in New Martinsville.

Officials Tuesday said most of the suspects do not have a job,have no money for a lawyer and had court appointed counsel and very few had finished high school.

One person allegedly involved in this massive sweep is still at large.

Authorities said  they are looking for a heavy-set African-American man known to them as  ''D-Wall.''

 

UPDATE:

Authorities are asking for help from the public in locating two people still at large after major drug arrests were made in Wetzel County.

In a press conference Wetzel County Prosecutor Tim Haught stated W.Va. State Police are looking for two suspects, Melinda Rice, a white female, and a man who authorities describe as a heavy-set African-American man known to them as "D-Wall."

In regards to the major prescription drug arrests, Haught said a six month investigation resulted in 29 indictments and 25 people arrested. He said two of those individuals are being held on other charges in Georgia.

Authorities are not releasing names or the exact charges until after the arraignment proceedings on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Haught said it took 12-14 hours to make the arrests overnight.

Authorities report major drug arrests have taken place in Wetzel County Thursday and 20 people are  behind bars.

Wetzel County Prosecutor Tim Haught said 29 people were indicted on prescription drug charges in New Martinsville.

Twenty of the 29 are currently being held at the Northern Regional Jail pending arraignments.

West Virginia State Police plan to hold a news conference Thursday afternoon at the Wetzel County courthouse to provide more details on the drug arrests.
