Despite a small drop in prices earlier this week, it appears Ohio Valley drivers will still be seeing high gas prices heading into the weekend.
When the workweek started prices had fallen nearly seven cents at some area gas stations, but by Friday most had risen back to their previous levels.
Prices across West Virginia averaged 5 cents higher than neighboring state, Ohio.
On Friday night the lowest prices for gas near Wheeling was the Sunoco on Eoff and 29th and The Loading Zone on Bethlehem Road.
Both stations were selling one gallon of unleaded at $3.74, according to WestVirginiaGasPrices.com.
The national average remains at $3.82, while drivers across West Virginia are seeing an average of $3.89.
